Supernova Science Club

Leadership Huntsville-Madison County’s Connect Class 16 has organized this event to raise awareness for children with special needs. You can bring your family and friends out for a fun-filled day including moon-bounces, face painting, fun games, balloon animals, door prizes, a picnic style lunch, and SO much more! Free and open to kids and families of all abilities. All proceeds will benefit the North Alabama Miracle League of Huntsville, details can be found here.
Shoot Some Hoops

Alabama A&M Wellness Center is offering a free youth basketball clinic for kids grades K-5. This co-ed clinic will get your kids shooting, dribbling, and passing their way down the court with coaches from the Youth Sports Academy program. If your child likes it and wants to continue, they can ask about the 6-week basketball camp starting on January 18th.
Meet the Orchestra

What sound does a bassoon make? What is the difference between a viola and a violin? How many strings are on a harp? Children and their families have fun discovering the answers to these musical questions and more during twenty-minute Opus Tadpole presentations, entertaining and interactive ways for our youngest listeners to learn about the instruments of the orchestra. Grown-ups will also learn a thing or two! You can even stay afterward to listen to the HSO rehearse.
Project Candy Land
Saturday from 3-6 PM – FREE

Want to see what happens when you put a crowd of kids in a room with lots of candy and ask them to build an epic structure out of it? Project Candy Land is about teaching kids how to engineer structures out of edible materials. The goal is to practically learn about measurement, architecture, engineering, and more while having fun doing it! Registration is closed for builders, but you can still watch the sticky construction being created by young competitors going for the cash prize.
Mensa Kids Trek Magic
Saturday from 2-4 PM – FREE
Huntsville Public Library Auditorium (map)
Kids of all ages and their families are invited to hear the secrets of three local magicians and see their tricks demonstrated to the audience. In addition, each participant will receive equipment for practice in performing magic at home. Mensa Kids trek is free, open to the public, and geared for all ages. Children must have adult partners.
