Sci-Quest’s Mad Scientist Bash = Epic Date Night
So what makes this event so unique? It is Sci-Quest’s premier adult fundraiser, happening later this month on Saturday, October 17. We all know there are numerous black tie galas and formal dinners in town, but I promise, this event is NOT one of them. The Mad Scientist Bash is a laid-back, fun party with great people, food, drinks, and, entertainment.
Mad Scientist Bash
Guests will enjoy the following:
- Plenty of delicious food from New Orleans Lunchbox – their bread pudding with whisky sauce is TO DIE FOR (it’ll be at the Bash!).
- Local craft beer from Yellowhammer Brewing.
- A digital light show from LED-Orange – the same guys that do all the amazing light shows in downtown Huntsville.
- A HUGE silent auction with everything from restaurant gift cards, jewelry, pet items, entertainment, hotel stays, and much more.
- Live music from The Crackerjacks – a cool local rockabilly band.
- A new signature drink mixed and served by Prichard’s Distillery in Tennessee.
Plus The Valley’s CW will have the official Flash and Green Arrow costumes from the hit TV shows for guests to take pictures with. Sadly, actors Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin are not included. Guests are encouraged to wear their lab coats or Halloween costumes.
Do it For Charity
If all of that doesn’t convince you to make a date for October 17, then maybe this will. The Mad Scientist Bash is Sci-Quest’s major fundraising event of the year. Sci-Quest is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and in order for them to keep providing all the quality educational programs for your children like Summer Camps, robotics teams, Sprouting Scientists, outreach programs, Expanding Your Horizons, Home School Science, etc. they need financial support from the community. Sci-Quest has grand plans to grow and really become a state-of-the-art community Science Center, but they cannot do it alone.
So if your child has taken a camp at Sci-Quest, or you’ve attended one of their numerous special events, then grab your friends, dance the night away, eat amazing food, bid on those awesome silent auction items, and most importantly, support your local science center!

I’ve never been to Sci-Quest since my kids are only 3. I can’t wait to take them when they get a bit older, though!
My daughter loves the projector screen where you see your shadows and can interact with digital items.
This event sounds like so much fun! I personally don’t enjoy getting too fancy…anything with the words “formal” or “gala” make me cringe. But “laid-back” is right up my alley! I took my 5 yr old to Sci Quest one afternoon to pass some time, and she thought it was the coolest thing ever. Honestly, I pretty much thought the same thing. One of her favorite things was creating giant bubbles with the soapy water and large metal rings. We also enjoyed the demo showing how food goes through the digestive tract. She has been asking me to go back, and we plan too soon!

This bash sounds fun! My kids absolutely love the huge bubbles they can make and playing with the musical instruments!
