Movers for Moms campaign is making big moves for local moms
When you think of Mother’s Day flower bouquets, pretty cards, and a day at the spa may come to mind. But for some women, a bottle a shampoo is the gift they so desperately want and need. Two Men and a Truck has launched their Movers for Moms campaign this month to help make those wishes a reality.
What’s Movers for Mom
Throughout the month of April, Two Men and a Truck will be collecting high-need items for families for their Movers for Moms campaign that benefits Owen’s House, a shelter for displaced women and children. Something as simple as deodorant can be enough to make a local mama’s entire day.
Needed items include:
- Shampoo & Conditioner
- Body Wash
- Hair brushes & combs
- Hair grease
- Hand soap & sanitizer
- Vaseline
- Facial tissue
- Disinfectant wipes
- Diapers – especially sizes 4,5, & 6
- Pulls Ups – especially sizes
- Deodorant
- Women’s Multivitamin
- Cold Medicine
- Cough drops

Helping Owen’s House
If you need more motivation to get behind the Movers for Moms campaign, take a look at the Owen’s House philosophy. A safe-haven for local women and children, Owen’s House, helps women dealing with substance abuse, domestic violence, or that simply need a safe place to stay.
According to the Downtown Rescue Mission website, Owen’s House offers women and children access to food, clothing, toiletries, showers, laundry facilities, counseling, medical care, and more at no cost to them. Guests are also allowed to stay as long as needed.
Throughout their stay, local moms are also able to take part in Downtown Rescue Mission’s Life Transformation Program. The nine month program allows women access to counseling, basic skills training, parenting classes, and more while also providing daycare for their children.
