Kris Kringle’s Candlelight Christmas: 12 Days of Giveaways

Imagine the beautiful landscape of Burritt on the Mountain all gussied up with more than 600 candles illuminating the ground. You and your entire family can wander throughout the park listening to various musical groups performing a variety of holiday classics. At Kris Kringle’s Candlelight Christmas, there will also be opportunities to see time-honored handicrafts and Christmas traditions demonstrated throughout the historic houses.

Along with hands-on activities for the children there is roasting chestnuts and Kris Kringle himself will be making an appearance!

Cost: Candlelight Christmas will be Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1 from 5-8 PM. Tickets are $10 for adults and $9 for seniors (65+), students, and active duty military. Children 2 and under are free, and Burritt Members are $2. Purchase tickets at the museum the night of the event.

  • What I love most about Historic Burritt on the Mountain is how special it is to my family. My husband and I got married at Burritt on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. It was absolutely gorgeous. Noel was amazing and helped us throughout all our planning. Now, a few years later we have been able to enjoy Burritt in a different light with our daughter, Emma. We have enjoyed Easter at Burritt and would love to experience Christmas here.

  • What I like most about Burritt on the Mountain is the fact that we have the restored wooden cabins right here in the city of Huntsville where one can imagination life as it was long ago. Our favorite event was Whimsical Woods . I love to hear the old time music on the front porches . We also enjoyed learning about geocaching . The displays of artifacts in the Doctors House are interesting . We hike down to the cross every year at Easter . I took my older daughter to Candlelight Christmas about 15 years ago , now its time to take my youngest .

  • We all enjoy the view! Our kids love seeing the animals when they are out.

  • We love going through the old houses at the museum. But we’ve never done the Christmas event before and I would love to make my kids this year!
