Jumping Into Summer

A decade ago, the activity options for families with younger kids wasn’t near as vast as they are now. Huntsville has experienced a boom in businesses, parks, and greenspaces that young families can enjoy while raising their kids. One of the first of these businesses on the scene was Jump!Zone, an indoor inflatable paradise for kids of all ages and their parents, located between Madison and Huntsville off Slaughter Road.

Recently, on February 1st, Jump!Zone reopened after a brief hiatus and a change of management. New owner Connie Martin has added lots more Open Play hours, new decor inside the building, a new Jurassic Adventure inflatable, special events, and even painting classes for adults while their kids play.

Known for the biggest inflatables around, Jump!Zone is home to the life-sized inflatable fire truck, giant Superman with a slide & challenge course, a carousel bounce house, and a tot-sized obstacle course and slide for the little one who isn’t quite ready to tackle the big slides yet. They also have a game room with an air hockey table, basketball hoop game, foosball, and a Toddler Room with a train table. A cafe area makes it easy to grab a bite after an afternoon of play.

Jump!Zone is chock-full of HUGE inflatables. There's also some for the wee ones.

Connie worked in the medical field for 25 years before taking the plunge and becoming an entrepreneur. She took some time to answer some questions for RCM and offer a great giveaway for our readers.

What sets Jump!Zone apart from other local indoor playgrounds?
“We have about a 35,000 square foot building that houses 6 massive inflatables and large party rooms. Our open play costs are reasonably priced with no time or age restrictions. We offer more space, 20 foot tall inflatables, contests, fundraising, “Schools-Out” specials, group activities, field trips, home school groups, sports parties and church events.”

Summer is almost here – what special events will you be hosting this year?
“We will be having a “School’s Out Luau” on May 25 from 10:00 – 8:00 as well as “Jump for Juniors” every Monday in June and July to benefit child life services at Huntsville Hospital Women and Children Center. We will also start offering the potter and painting classes for adults while the kids play.”

As a new small business owner, what are some of the challenges and successes you’ve faced?
“Finding part-time employees can be difficult, and I like to employ dedicated people. I love seeing all the smiling faces and kid’s having a wonderful time – that would be the best thing. We all love to come to work everyday – not that I didn’t before, but this is such fun work!”

What is your entrepreneurial advice to other small business owners?
“Sometimes you just have to take the step and trust that God will lead you in the proper direction.”

If you like Jump!Zone on Facebook you can enter to win a giveaway of 6 Jumpasses good for 6 visits, a retail value of $40.
