Happy Weekend, Huntsville! It’s Veteran’s Day and we hope you’ll spend some time with your family finding ways to thank and celebrate our country’s veterans. We’ve put together some fun ideas for kids to do before the Huntsville Veteran’s Day Parade.

National Planting Day

Santa Arrives at the Mall

Keep the kids in their Christmas PJ’s, and head to the mall for a morning full of fun holiday activities like face painting, milk & cookies & stories.

Land Trust Kid’s Hike

This fun guided hike is especially for kids and features the plants & animals that call this mountain home. Bring a picnic lunch for after the hike, and RSVP to let them know you’re attending.

Native American Heritage Celebration

Florence Indian Mound Museum | More Info

Kids of all ages are invited to learn about the Southeastern peoples’ legends of the owl and make their own owls from natural materials. A Gratitude Ceremony will follow.

Veteran’s Day Parade – cancelled due to inclement weather

Come out to honor local veterans – the parade program starts at the Veterans Memorial Park. The cannon fires and the Parade starts at ~ 11:11 AM so be sure to arrive early for a good spot.
