Huntsville Weekend Roundup June 5-7

It’s been a doozie of a week, and we could all use a breather and some quality time with our families. We’ve listed our favorite ways to do that below, and whether you want to stay close to home or venture out into the community, we hope you do so safely and that you wear a mask when you can’t distance yourself from strangers. It doesn’t protect you but it might protect them and that’s protecting all of us.

Weekend Fun (at a safe distance)

  • Those who want to participate can head to this Family Read-In for Social Justice. Details
  • Catch a double feature at the South Huntsville Drive-In Movie Night. Details
  • Or this drive-in movie at MidCity – we could all use a little Mister Rogers right now. Details
  • Or how about THIS drive-in on the dock at Lowe Mill. Details
  • Enjoy live music, trivia, and fireworks at the Trash Panda Ballpark! Details
  • Cool off in one of the splashpads and parks but the rules are slightly new so if that’s in your plans for weekend check our post of first. Details
  • The Space and Rocket Center is open for visitors again. Details
  • Burritt on the Mountain is open too and the Whimsical Woods is calling. Details
  • The Huntsville Botanical Garden is also open but be sure to read the new rules before heading out. Details
  • Arts Huntsville is offering their Summer Street Jams series (Fridays and Saturdays) around downtown Huntsville. Details
  • Tired of those old paint cans collecting dust in your garage? Get rid of them this weekend. Details
  • Or make a frozen treat at this virtual STEAM event. Details
  • Feel like doing a little painting this weekend? Our friends at Spirited Art are continuing their popular take home kits all summer. Details
  • If you prefer to buy your art but don’t want to get out of the car, consider Lowe Mill’s drive-thru artist market happening Saturday. Details
  • Are you taking a hike this weekend? We’ve got a great list of kid-friendly trails but be sure to look out for poison ivy. Details
  • Get your fill of fresh fruit and veggies by shopping at various local Farmers Markets. Details
  • Enjoy a Healthy Huntsville workout in the park this Saturday AM. Details
