Huntsville Restaurant Week August 16-25

Local foodies should polish their silverware and get ready to celebrate Huntsville Restaurant Week – it kicks off today and runs through next weekend. It’s a great way to try something new and support local businesses at the same time!

Huntsville Restaurant Week is a part of the state-wide Alabama Restaurant Week, a program that encourages Alabamians to “savor the cuisine of Sweet Home Alabama with specially priced meals featured at restaurants during this Year of Alabama Food special event.” In my humble opinion, it’s a great chance to eat shrimp & grits, all in the name of regional culinary pride!

How It Works

Participation is open to all non-chain restaurants except for those chains that began in Alabama.

Participating restaurants offer pre-fixed two-course lunch and/or three-course dinner offerings at an attractive set price. A three-course dinner meal should include a starter, main course and dessert while the two-course lunch meal should include a main course and either a starter or dessert. The 2-course lunches will be $5, $10 and $15; the 3-course dinners will be $10, $20 and $30 excluding tax and gratuity.

There are no coupons or discount books to buy or bring. Just ask for an Alabama Restaurant Week meal at a participating restaurant during the promotion time period and enjoy. With the promotion’s s pre-set prices, you know before making your plans your cost.

Choosing a Restaurant

31 restaurants are participating in Madison County. While some are best left to a special Date Night out (or Date Lunch!), others also offer kid-friendly fare on their regular menu. Your little ones can still order their favorites, while you sample a specially-prepared meal from a local chef. YUM!
