Huntsville man headed to Minneapolis in 1,000 mile march
He’s putting his business on hold and missing some quality time with his 7-year-old son but Terry Willis believes his march from Huntsville to Minneapolis is worth the sacrifice. He’s marching for change, justice, and equality.
“As a black father who is raising a black son, I feel like am obligated to do my part in making change and a better future for my son. I see what’s going on and I understand why my people are mad. I’m not here to judge anyone, I say do what you have to do to make sure your voice is heard,” says Willis
Thirty-five year old Willis is the owner of TruTrim carpentry in Huntsville as well as an inspirational speaker so it’s no surprise he decided to do something that would inspire others. Joined by his friend Williams Fred who is helping to document the journey, in two days Willis has already made it past Clarksville, TN and he’s drawing more and more attention at each stop.
In Nashville there were people following along who were there to greet him and get their picture taken with him. His Facebook page created for the journey already has more than 1,000 people following him and he’s even made the news in Chicago!
