Free and Cheap Summer Movies in Huntsville and North Alabama

Looking for a way to get out of the house with the kids but stay in the air conditioning and not spend a fortune? Look no further than the free and cheap summer movies offered by various local theaters. There’s not much more classic than enjoying a family night together at the movies – both indoors and under the stars!

This is a 8-week program that provides parents and their children a safe, fun, entertainment experience this summer. Each week they will show re-released classic G- and PG-rated family-friendly film. Movies start at 10AM and this year the movies will be shown Monday-Thursday each of the 8 weeks! Cost is $1.50 per show and reservations can be made online.

Free Summer Movies for Kids in Athens

This mom & pop movie theatre in Athens is opening it’s doors early every Saturday in June for some family-friendly screenings to benefit Limestone County Churches. They will be accepting canned goods at the doors but note that this is not required to watch the movie. Showings are at 9AM, doors open at 8AM.

The Village of Providence will once again be hosting outdoor screenings in their own park, the large green space on Providence Main Street right next to Mellow Mushroom. Chairs and blankets encouraged, but please, support our local restaurants and businesses that make these events possible with no outside food or drink. Outdoor Movies at Madison Library: Summer of 1982

Madison Library invites you to join them in the time machine as they head back to 1982 to enjoy a series of films from the era. On select Fridays in June and July they will be hosting screenings outside the library. The fun starts at 7PM, movies begin at dusk. Come early to enjoy special activities before each film.
Parent-tip: All movies in this series are rated PG but remember it’s a 1982 PG 😜. If you haven’t seen the film yourself and are considering taking a child under 10, we recommend checking out Common Sense Media reviews before attending.
