Jason Isbell Wants to Help You Buy Huntsville a New Pediatric Ambulance

Giveaway Alert! Read to the bottom for details on how you can win tickets!

As parents, there are lots of things we hope we never need but are SO GLAD that they’re there. Band-Aids. Spare tires. IEPs. Pediatric ambulances are pretty high on that list.

You can help the Huntsville Hospital Foundation with that last one, and have a great time doing it on May 10th! Grammy Award-winning musicians, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit will be headlining the 30th annual Huntsville Classic. Proceeds from this concert will provide a second Kids Care transport ambulance to kids in the North Alabama region, plus all the innovative equipment onboard.

Who Would a Pediatric Ambulance Help?

If your child has an accident, or needs to be transported from one hospital to another across state lines, they will need a pediatric ambulance. It is customized for the most vulnerable and smallest among us – a standard-sized ambulance can’t do the same job. A Kids Care Transport Ambulance has:

  • Pediatric trained staff and physicians
  • Innovative techniques used to alleviate fear, anxiety and pain in children
  • Medical equipment and technology that is designed and built specifically for pediatric patients

Every year, Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children transports up to 700 critically ill and injured infants and pediatric patients with their current Kids Care ambulance. The vehicle accommodates patients ages birth to 18, and is staffed 24/7 by a highly trained medical team with 200-plus years combined experience.

But Huntsville and North Alabama has grown, and Madison Hospital needs their own Kids Care unit to help treat little patients on the move. Simply put, local kids in medical distress need a second ambulance.

“It is our honor to safely and effectively transport these young patients every day, and a second Kids Care vehicle will ensure we can continue meeting the growing need during peak times,” said Danielle Armstrong, Huntsville Hospital Pediatric ICU unit director and Kids Care coordinator. “Concert goers in this year’s Huntsville Classic will have a direct impact on making this possible, and we are extremely grateful for their support!”
