2020 Huntsville Arts Week is October 17-25

The second annual Huntsville Arts Week may look a little different this year. What doesn’t? Since many of us in the Arts Community have had to get creative with their offerings, this Huntsville Arts Week will offer events but also focus on shining a light and celebrating the amazing Arts Community in Huntsville October 17-25! Some activities will be virtual, but there are also activities for you and your family or “quaranteam” to get out and get involved in the Creative Side of Huntsville!

Here is just a sample of the creative, family-friendly events that you have to look forward to in 2020!

Kid-Friendly Huntsville Arts Week Events

Amelia and Harriet’s Magical Adventure

October 17th at 2:00 PM

Open your imagination and follow along on Amelia and Harriot’s Magical Adventure! As the girls set out for an evening of trick or treating, it starts to rain and they find themselves inside an antique shop. Little did they know the night would be full of surprises and fun encounters with characters that everyone knows and loves. Kids of all ages are sure to enjoy this original piece of work created as a puppet show set on Halloween. This virtual event is free however Fantasy Playhouse is accepting donations if you are able to contribute.

Painting Pumpkins

Kiddos ages 3+ along with their family can enjoy an afternoon of painting pumpkins outdoors with Spirited Art at the family-friendly Salty Nut Brewery. Registration for the event is required.

Get Hands-On at the Art Museum

October 17 at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM
Cost: FREE

CREATE Saturdays – Kandinsky Tree Art: Families and children are invited to the Huntsville Museum of Art for a range of programs especially designed with younger visitors in mind. CREATE Saturdays offer free, fun, interactive art making activities for children ages 3 and up that will sure to spark one’s creativity! Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Villains of Broadway Drive-In Cabaret

October 18 at 7:00 PM
Cost: $17 per person

What is more appropriate in the pre-Halloween season than a stage full of Broadway’s most interesting villains? IMP Huntsville presents a cavalcade of musical theatre bad guys (and girls) whom we simply love to hate.

Halloween Block Party

October 24 from Noon-4:00 PM
