First Thoughts of a New Dad

People tell you how much you’ll instantly fall in love. They warn you how you’ll worry every time they stop making squeaks and you’ll check that they’re breathing every few seconds. None of that prepared me for the first time she opened her eyes and looked at me as I spoke to her.
The nurses in the room kept talking to me, but nothing existed for a few moments.
All the cynicism has melted off me in the last 24 hours. I’m uncontrollably singing and humming made up lullabies (or Star Wars, Game of Thrones, or video game music).
I can’t help with the baby talk. I’m officially ruined.
This is magical.
