Included with general admission or membership

Join us for the Saturday Scientist series, an educational series featuring activities recommended for ages 6-9. Held the second Saturday of each month and included with membership or general admission!

Reservations are required for participation in Saturday Scientist. Please reserve your seat with the front desk staff upon arrival. Seats are limited and fill up quickly, so please arrive early. Advance reservations are not accepted, and tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

January 11: Jelly Bean Bar Graphs: Group, count and analyze data to make a tasty jelly bean bar graph.

February 08: I <3 Chemistry: Bubble, fizz and pop – The love for chemical reactions!

March 14: Kite Flight Physics: Let’s go fly a kite using science!

April 11: (50th Anniversary of Earth Day) Plant a tree seedling, learn the basics of botany and explore how plants grow on earth and in space.

May 09: Tortillas, Time Travel, and the Geometry of the Universe: Using a space tortilla, bend and fold time to show the shapes of the universe.

June 13: Artemis: Exploration Mission 1 – SLS paper rockets, CubeSats and Orion MPCV splashdown

July 11: Mars 2020 Rovers: Build your own next generation Mars rover!

August 08: Constellation Dog Days of Summer: Canis Major and ancient Egypt

Septemeber 12: Tubular Telescopes: Build your very own telescope and discover how it works!

October 10: Spooky Science: The weird, a little spooky, and strange science of STEM

November 14: Aviation Adventure: Build and fly your own balsa wood airplane! (Aviation History Month)

December 12: Toys in Space: Explore with the ISS astronauts the joys of playing with toys in microgravity
