If you glimpse into a time before pixie dust glimmered among the stars on the path to Neverland, you’ll find the dawn of a story; first star on the right and straight on ‘til morning! In this whimsical tale you’ll be taken back to a time before Wendy, Captain Hook, or Peter Pan. You’ll instead find a starcatcher apprentice, a pirate, and a nameless orphan boy weaving their fates together in a wild and hilarious voyage on the high seas of your imagination.
This grownup prequel to Peter Pan by Rick Elice tells the story of the Neverland you never knew. With pirates in hot pursuit, an apprentice starcatcher named Molly Aster and three orphan boys embark on a sea voyage with a trunk full of magical starstuff. Along the way, Molly learns the meaning of growing up while a nameless boy and his friends establish their home in a timeless place of childhood dreams.
After its premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse, followed by a brief Off-Broadway run, Peter and the Starcatcher opened on Broadway in 2012 and earned five Tony Awards. Theatre Huntsville is delighted to bring this timeless story to Huntsville audiences, produced by special arrangement with Music Theatre International. Tickets are $22 for adults and $20 students, seniors, and active-duty military.
