The Alabama Cooperative Extension System’s Urban Affairs and New Nontraditional Programs (Urban Affairs) unit launched its More in our cities: Lunch & Learn Series on Thursday, March 28, 2019, from Noon to 1:00 p.m. The series will be held in the James I. Dawson Building (room 225) on the campus of Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University (Alabama A&M University), where the Urban Affairs unit is housed. The monthly series will run from March to August, with more dates to be added based on interest. The series is free and open to the public. Bring your lunch and arrive ready to learn!
The Lunch & Learn Series is part of a rebranding campaign for the Urban Affairs and New Nontraditional Programs unit called “More in our cities.” The campaign is designed to reach new audiences in urban and suburban communities and educate the public about programs that Urban Affairs offers in eight program areas. More than the popular agriculture and 4-H programs that many know today, Alabama Extension has something for every individual, family, and community such as free financial management, leadership and workforce development, and nutrition education for the state’s most vulnerable populations.
The public is invited to join us each month for an exciting and engaging experience where participants will learn new skills and collaborate with persons across the state. Several sessions will be available through videostreaming to accommodate those who cannot attend in person. The currently scheduled topics are listed below. To suggest a topic, please contact us directly.
