Home for the Holidays Single-Day Camp

Come join the Cook Museum for a day camp during Christmas Break where campers will enjoy age-appropriate activities, crafts, & games! Snack and lunch are included. The same activities will be offered each day.

Ages: 5-7:
Ever wonder how reptiles and amphibians survive a cold Alabama winter? During this camp, participants will be able to see the Museum’s Live Animal Ambassadors like snakes, turtles, and arthropods up close. Alabama’s forests are truly incredible, and campers will learn all about the longleaf pine while making a pinecone Christmas tree. Lastly, campers will also make unique snowflake crafts and learn the science behind snow!

Ages: 8-9:
Presentations with the Museum’s Live Animal Ambassadors, ornament craft making, and scavenger hunts in the Exhibits are just a few of the activities that campers will be able to do during the Home for the Holidays Camp. Learn all about Alabama’s state symbols like the black bear and honey bee through crafts and activities. Lastly, discover more about our home state by studying maps and making your own Alabama map on an ornament!

Ages 10-12:
Join for the Home for the Holidays Camp, where campers will get to learn all about what makes Alabama amazing! Campers will get to see some of the Museum’s Live Animal Ambassadors like snakes, turtles, and arthropods up close. They will get creative and make some one-of-a-kind ornaments using materials like circuits and salt dough that help them understand the beauty of wild Alabama. Lastly, campers will discover more about the state agricultural insect, the honey bee, by completing an insect pinning of a honey bee.

Cost: $59 (+ tax) per participant, $5 Member discount, per day
