Join the Land Trust of North Alabama for a day of engaging, hands-on professional development created specifically for high school teachers. These two sessions offer practical classroom resources and real-world strategies for incorporating place-based, project-based learning into your curriculum. Attend one or both.
Session 1: Exploring Citizen Science with iNaturalist
🔶 9:00–11:00 AM | Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve
Take a guided hike with a Land Trust naturalist and explore how iNaturalist can be used for citizen science and biodiversity research. Learn how to engage your students in observation, data collection, and local environmental exploration.
Session 2: Resources & Partnerships for Project-Based Learning
🔶1:00–3:00 PM | Huntsville-Madison County Public Library
Preview classroom-ready resources developed by the Land Trust’s education team. Discover how to incorporate local environmental topics into your teaching and explore partnership opportunities for the 2025–26 school year. You must RSVP!
