Did You Know? Black History Writing Contest

In celebration of Black History Month, we are having a writing contest! This event will be held throughout the month of February. Winners will be notified by March 6, 2020. Contest is exclusively at Russell Library.

 

What to do:

  1. Come by Russell Library and pull a name from our “Did You Know?” bowl. (The bowl has names of Black Americans that are inventors, entertainers, and more. Some of which that may not be well known.)
  2. Get a “Did You Know?” Writing Sheet.
  3. Fill out the writing sheet. Include birth, where they were born, and accomplishments (at least 2 facts.)
  4. Turn in writing sheet to Russell Library.

 

Here are the rules:

  • Must be between the ages of 7 through 12.
  • Deadline to turn in is February 29, 2020.
