Cook Museum March Homeschool Classes (Decatur)

K – 2nd Grade: Amazing Animals – Insects
9:30 – 10:30 am, 11 am – Noon, or 1 – 2 pm
$12 (+ tax) per participant, per class
Over 1,000,000 different types of insects creep, leap, flap, and flutter across the planet! Let’s see what all the buzz is about and explore the wonderful world of insects while meeting some of the Museum’s real live insect Animal Ambassadors.
3rd – 6th Grade: Earthquake Engineers
9:30 – 10:30 am, 11 am – Noon, or 1 – 2 pm
$12 (+ tax) per participant, per class
What causes earthquakes? Discover the answer while making several different models, then put your knowledge to the test to build an earthquake resistant structure!
7th – 12th Grade: Mussel Anatomy – Dissection
9:30 – 10:30 am or 11 am – Noon
$24 (+ tax) per participant, per class
Invertebrates come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and one of the most interesting groups of invertebrates are mollusks! Students in this class will participate in a mussel dissection to learn about bivalve anatomy and discover just how important freshwater mussels are to the health of our rivers and streams!
