Alabama Designer Craftsmen Art Demonstration Day

Art demonstrations will feature skilled artists in clay, precious metal clay, metal, fibers and more. The demonstrators are renowned for their skills in their fields and are happy to pass along information and techniques to anyone who comes children and adults. Questions are encouraged. There will be artworks by the artists to view and to purchase.
The demonstrations will take place at the Huntsville Museum of Art’s Museum Academy Studios on the North Patio overlooking Big Spring Park. Demonstrations are free to attend, but admission is required to view the art galleries at the Museum.
Artists include:
Carl Cummins: woodturning (Birmingham)
Lynnette Hesser: ceramics (Wellington)
Marcus Hilden: hammered metals (New Market)
Steve Loucks: ceramics (Wellington)
Cindy Miller: precious metal clay (Athens/Huntsville)
Barbara Mitchell: art quilting (Birmingham)
Steve Smith: upcycling recycled glass (Pell City)
Kami Watson: felting wool and silk (Huntsville)
Demonstration Schedule:
Academy Studio I
– 9 a.m.: Marcus Hilden
– 10 a.m.: Steve Smith
– 10:30 a.m.: Barbara Mitchell
– 11 a.m.: Kami Watson
Academy Studio II:
– 9 a.m.: Lynnette Hesser & Steve Loucks
– 10 a.m.: Cindy Miller
– 11 a.m.: Carl Cummins
