Since opening its doors in 1970, nearly 16 million people have toured the Center. The vast majority of those visitors have been from out of state or from foreign nations. Many of the more than 550,000 annual visitors are school students on field trips to their future. Dozens of interactive exhibits encourage visitor participation, prompting one official to note: “Here, everyone can be an astronaut for the day!”

Living in Huntsville it’s easy to forget how lucky we are to have this incredible treasure in our backyard. My kids always get a kick out of visiting the new exhibits or even just hanging out on the playground near the cafe and riding that mini sling-shot. Plus, we take everyone who visits us because…ROCKETSHIPS, ASTRONAUTS, SPACE!! It’s a great place to spend an afternoon with kids of all ages.

431 Clouds Cove Road
Huntsville, AL 35803

This place is fantastic. It’s the closest thing Huntsville has to a zoo and the people who run it are super nice. The drive-thru aspect of the “zoo” means no one gets too tired or hot. My whole family has a blast whenever we go! – Marisa S.

Huntsville, AL

This was an awesome location for my children (age 7) to run off some steam. We invited our friends, and the kids had a blast running through the obstacle course and playing on all of the bounce options and slides. I have also been to birthday parties here and they are GREAT! – Christa L.
