Desperately Needs a Date Night

[box style=”lavender rounded” ]We get a lot of questions here at RCM, and decided to start a local advice column where our super-smart readers provide advice for the toughest parenting problems. We’ll be running these questions as an opportunity for our readers to share personal experiences, opinions, and anecdotes. As always, please do your own research before following any advice given here… or anywhere else on the web, for that matter. [/box] [sws_blockquote_endquote align=”left” cite=”” quotestyle=”style01″]We are new to Huntsville and I’m looking for a regular spot for my husband and I to call “our” spot, but I can’t seem to find any mention in the reviews of restaurants that are good for kidless evenings. Needs to have live music (but not so loud that we can’t hear each other talk) – and can be a dive. Any help? Thanks! – Desperately Needs a Date Night[/sws_blockquote_endquote]

  • 1. Pizza/beer/gelato on the patio at Sam & Greg’s and a walk around Big Spring Park (live music on the courthouse steps every other Thursday/Friday starting soon!).
    2. Sunday brunch and live music at Below the Radar (not a date night, but a great date day option).
Other favorites are Furniture Factory and songwriters showcases Friday nights at Coffee Tree and Emma’s Tea Room.

  • The Furniture Factory is great if you don’t mind smoke. Also, Humphrey’s downtown

  • LeeAnn’s (downtown across from the train depot) has live music and an outdoor patio. Most places in Huntsville with live music are also places where smoking is permitted, unfortunately, but if you can sit outside, that helps. Humphrey’s also has an outdoor patio with live music.

  • Some have music…some don’t …Blue Pants Brewery (eat tacos from on on), 1892, Humphrey’s, Broken Clock Gastropub, sandwich Farm then visit the Lone Goose, Furniture Factory.

  • My husband and I realized quality time together is so important! One it is so important to be a good roll model for our children. Second, The Scene and Monaco Pictures is perfect for anytime of the daya for date, not just nighttime. Also, be spontaneous creative on a date, rather a Hot Air Balloon ride, or simply a romantic hour picnic on Green mountain is very excitable! Also individual time, is important too.. thats another blog topic. 😉

  • Check out Straight To Ale. They have great beer, food, music, and arcade games. A lot of times, they have live entertainment. They always have things going on at their place and other venues. Friend them on Facebook to keep up with all of their events! That’s what we all did, lol. Plus, they’re great people and generous to the community! I just love those guys, and their beers rock!
