Support Group Spotlight: Catholic Center of Concern

Let me start by emphasizing that the Catholic Center of Concern helps families and individuals regardless of religious affiliation — you do NOT have to be Catholic in order to receive their services or to volunteer with them. CCC has a strong focus on women and children and on the elderly in our community. In addition to counseling services, they can also help with utilities, rent and non-narcotic prescriptions.

CCC photoThey operate a help line, which is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 9:00 a.m. until appointments are full. They also operate a clothing room and baby room, which allows anyone in need to come and “shop” for clothing (all ages and sizes) and baby supplies, free of charge. The baby room offers mothers with children additional services, including baby basket items for moms with newborns, diapers, wipes, and other baby items for mothers with young children.

The clothing room is open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with no appointment necessary. Mother’s needing diapers/wipes or newborn baby baskets are welcome any time during regular business hours; Monday –Thursday 8am-4pm and Friday 8am -12pm.
