It’s no secret we LOVE the Huntsville Madison County Public Library and all of it’s many branches! There’s no shortage to quality community programs they host for kids and families. Library storytime is a great way to instill a love of books in your child, and the local library does so much more than just story hour! We like to list their events here every month, but you can see all of their other events on the HMCPL website.

Countdown to Kindergarten
April 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Madison Public Library
Is your child ready for kindergarten? Bring your 3-5 year old to explore and practice the skills your child needs for a smooth transition into kindergarten.

Build Your Own Library
April 7 at 11:00 a.m.
Bessie K. Russell Library Branch Library
If you could create your own library, what would be your vision? Ages 9 and up.

The Poets Workshop
April 8 at 2:00 p.m.
Downtown Huntsville Library
The Poets Workshop, a group of HLA, will have a public reading Sunday, April 7, 2018, in the auditorium from 2 to 4 with refreshments served. We will have complimentary chapbooks of the poems read for the public.

Garden Sprouts
April 9 at 4:00 p.m.
Eleanor E. Murphy Branch Library
Children of all ages can join us on the second Monday of the month to help in our Learning Garden.

2018 Quilts Then and Now Show
April 14 at 9:00 a.m.
Elizabeth Carpenter Public Library of New Hope
Join us in historic downtown New Hope for this annual celebration of the art of quilting. This year’s quilt raffle will be for the “Stars Fell on Alabama” quilt at 3 pm. Admission is only $5. Sponsored by the New Hope FOL. For more information call 256-723-2995

Monrovia Masterminds Science Club

All second through fifth graders who are interested in exploring the worlds of science come join our science club.

LEGO Club in Madison

Madison Public Library
Join us for our first LEGO club. No reservation is necessary, but we’ll only have supplies while they last!

Kids n’ Kites Saturdays
April 28 at 10:30 a.m.
In celebration of National Kite Month, join us for a fun-filled event! Kite flying, face painting, spin art, and refreshments! Family friendly, all ages. Free.
