Concerts in the Park

Arts Huntsville and the City of Huntsville’s Department of Parks and Recreation present the 2018 Concerts in the Park season. The Concerts, which will be held for ten weeks every Monday evening, begin June 3 and conclude August 5. The series will showcase a mix of musical genres from rock and roll, pop and top 40 to swing, country, bluegrass, Celtic and jazz. The Concerts take place in downtown Huntsville on the Huntsville Museum of Art outdoor stage in Big Spring International Park from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. The series is free to the public; concertgoers should bring their own seating and leashed pets are welcome. Picnics are welcome, though concertgoers will have a variety of dinner choices available as Arts Huntsville and the City of Huntsville will host local food trucks at the weekly Concerts.

Sponsored by the City of Decatur Parks and Recreation Department, this concert series on the banks of the Tennessee River runs every Monday in June and July (with the exception of the weeks of Memorial Day and Independence Day). These FREE concerts offer a wide variety of musical styles in a family-friendly setting. Guests are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets. Per Decatur City Ordinance, alcohol is not permitted in the park and pets must be leashed according to City laws. For more information call 256-341-4818.

For those of you in Madison, or those who just prefer a smaller event, this free concert series is held every Thursday in the summer from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. This year, the Madison Public Library and Madison Arts Council have come together and concerts will be held in the back yard of the Madison Public Library (instead of at the Gazebo as in years past). Don’t forget to bring chairs or blankets!

Singing on the Square Summer Concert Series

This annual singing series hosted by the Athens-Limestone County Tourism Association features a variety of local talent on the select Fridays of the month from May to August on the Marion Street steps of the Limestone County Courthouse in the historic downtown district of Athens, Alabama (unless otherwise noted). This free concert series is open to the public and is from 7:00PM-9:00PM (unless otherwise noted). No seating is provided, so camp and lawn chairs are suggested. Come early and enjoy the stores and restaurants before the show. The rain location for this event is the Vietnam Veterans of Veterans Post 17915 West Elm Street in Athens.
