Many of these events are the perfect setting to get a picture with Santa and we recommend hitting up a couple in case your little ones aren’t cooperative on the first attempt. It happens.

Under the Christmas Tree

Randolph_underthechristmastreeIf marking early shopping off your list is a must, this popular local shopping event is definitely one to attend! Attendees can enjoy Christmas special events, children’s activities while shopping from more than 100 specialty merchants from 9 states. Special children’s events include Breakfast with Santa, arts and crafts opportunities, gingerbread decorating parties, Elf Academy, winter games and even photos with Santa. Under The Christmas Tree is Randolph’s biggest special event annual fundraiser. The three day market attracts approximately 10,000 shoppers from throughout the region and contributes more than $100,000 to Randolph’s Financial Aid program.

MOPS Holiday Market

The 2nd Annual MOPS Holiday Market will have over 30 vendors and pictures with Santa! Some items you find are handmade jewelry, items from Trade Fair Market, Matilda Jane, incredible homemade goodies, handmade soaps, hand lotions and candles, woodworking products, Christmas decor, wreaths, doll clothes, Wildtree, scrapbooking items, Mosaic tile Crosses, Donut Hole Donuts and so much more!  Santa from Santa’s Village will be at the market from 10-1 to take pictures! First Baptist Church will also be hosting an Operation Christmas Child packing day on Saturday from 10-2 so drop off your shoeboxes and come to the market!

Pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Claus at Honeycomb Salon

Every year during the second weekend of November the small town of Fayetteville comes alive with its traditional “Host of Christmas Past.” This friendly small town offers free parking, great food, carriage rides, homemade snow, high tea, and nonstop entertainment. PJ Party with Santa: Nov. 11 at 9AM – Kids can enjoy milk and fresh chocolate chip cookies, caroling with Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater, face painting, Letters to Santa, and each child will receive a personalized ornament from the Ornament Workshop. Enjoy fun Christmas pictures with Cinderella and Batman and lastly, Santa will make his grand entrance for storytelling and singing before making his way to the Santa set!

Santa at Bridge Street

Bridge Street Town Centre will light up like a winter wonderland to welcome Santa! The big guy arrives at the tree lighting ceremony on November 17; after that, Santa will be in residence on select dates November 19th through December 24th. Santa Claus will be strolling the promenade dressed in Victorian attire, greeting shoppers and posing for photos. And on December 2 from 2-4PM, Santa will be available for pet photos! Guests are invited to bring their dogs to visit with Santa and receive free doggy treats. Guests are invited to bring their own cameras to visit Santa, as professional photography is not available.

31st Annual Athens Christmas Open House

Santa will be dropping by during the 31st Annual Christmas Open House event in Downtown Athens on Saturday and Sunday afternoons! Village of Providence Tree Lighting

Providence Park will host the 8th annual tree lighting event, with games, activities and pictures with Santa free with a new unwrapped toy for Toys-for-Tots. Santa arrives at 4:30 p.m. via firetruck and the tree lighting begins at 6:30 p.m. Help bring Christmas to local children in need by dropping a new unwrapped toy off at any participating Village of Providence business before Monday, December 5th! Christmas in the Park – ArabArab Christmas in the Park

Featuring more than 1 million lights and new displays, the park will be ablaze with the magic and beauty of Christmas. Kick things off with the formal tree lighting ceremony on Friday, November 24th at 6PM! Visitors can then stroll along the sidewalks and pathways within the park. Arab Historic Village transforms into a winter wonderland complete with Santa’s Toy Shop and his elves and Santa himself! Children can sit in Santa’s lap and have their photo taken, decorate a cookie, or write a letter to Santa. Children can also take home Reindeer food, made in the old Grist Mill, and there is live music at the Rice Church, located in the village.

Santa’s Village

Another staple holiday event put on by Earlyworks, this one in conjunction with Constitution Village. If you buy a ticket to the Earlyworks Society’s Suppers with Santa, you get admission to Santa’s Village for free – but you can also just buy tickets for this delightful event on its own. All ages will delight in visiting the Claus’ house, meeting Santa’s reindeer, the North Pole elves, and Santa! Snow shows, craft projects and musical entertainment all add to the fun at the Village Santa Calls Home! In Santa’s Magic Garden, the magical garden will come to life right before your eyes. Christmas trees will talk and sing, while holiday lights magically keep up the beat. There’s lots to see and do in the magical village that Santa calls home!

Suppers with Santa

This popular Huntsville fundraiser sponsored by the Earlyworks Society includes a child-friendly meal and a seat at each table reserved for Santa to drop by and wish you a hearty Ho Ho Ho! When Santa’s not at your table, one of his many friends will drop by to say hello. The Grand Hall will be transformed into a magical Christmas wonderland by the Society members. Tickets also include admission to Santa’s Village anytime through December 23.  So  after dinner, head over to Santa’s Village to visit with the reindeer, hear a story from Mrs. Claus, and enjoy the snowfall while listening to our entertainers performing holiday classics (and you can visit with Santa there, too!). If you know you’d like to attend, mark your calendar now to snag tickets – they go on sale NOVEMBER 1st online only at 8AM, and they go FAST!

Kris Kringle’s Candlelight Christmas

No Holiday Event is Complete Without This Guy

We are decking the halls, the walls and the stalls! The kids will love to see Kris Kringle in the Burritt Mansion from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. The star-lit mountain will be mirrored by more than 600 candles, adding to the nostalgic feel of the holidays. Music will be heard throughout the mansion and the park; cider, cookies and tasty figgy pudding will keep us warm. Children will enjoy stringing cranberries and popcorn, making paper punch ornaments, creating handmade cards and icing cookies. Many who have come to Candlelight Christmas have felt there was no better way to start the holiday season in a festive non-commercial setting.

North Star Limited
Back for its third year, the North Star Limited is sure to be successful again! The North Star Limited is a night-time ride along the rails, featuring snacks and special treats for all our guests. Sippin’ Cider Festival

Visit Downtown Athens for the city’s annual Sippin’ Cider Festival! Voted a top 20 event in the Southeast in 2014, it’s a night of family-friendly holiday festivities. Jingle Bell Square

Jingle Bell Square will start off the day at 9AM with craft vendors and direct sales vendors; then, beginning at 4PM, the Annual Chrismas Parade will begin on Broad Street at Collins Elementary School and will end at The Square.
