Engineering Detectives is a hands-on engineering unit all about solving problems. As students become detectives during this unit, they will discover how to work together, think outside of the box, and develop their STEAM knowledge. Pre-K through 8th grade.
Alabama Kidnastics Fall Break Camp
Stay active over Fall Break with Alabama Kidnastics! Each day is filled with fun activities such as gymnastics, dance, volleyball, soccer, softball, basketball, fitness games, and arts & crafts. Space is limited, so register early! Ages Kindergarten through 12 years old.
Alexander’s Martial Arts
Combining martial arts, personal development, crafts, activities, field trips and more! This mini-version of Alexander’s summer program is perfect for kids who are looking to get some pent-up energy out during Fall Break. Kids will swim twice during the week, and have a day at the park (weather permitting). Ages 5-12.

Your child will work his/her creativity and imagination while learning new art techniques and even exploring great master artists and their work. All supplies included, must bring lunch and a snack. Before and after care available.
Get artistic this fall break! Each day campers will have time in the open studio, work on a project, and get some time outside (weather permitting). Campers should bring their own lunch. Ages 10 and under (and able to use the restroom independently).
Bricks 4 Kidz
Go LEGO crazy this fall break with morning or afternoon day camps at Bricks 4 Kidz! Burritt on the Mountain
Experience fall break to the fullest — attend Burritt’s BIG Adventure! This camp is not just about learning but is a fun-filled adventure for all. Campers will enjoy the great outdoors as they hike our forested nature trails, learn about life in the 1800s, see and do folk arts and traditional skills, and visit our wonderful barnyard. This sampling of everything Burritt has to offer wouldn’t be complete without a special visit to our new Rosenwald Schoolhouse! Here, campers will experience what school was like in the early 1900s, including using a slate and chalk, basket weaving as a vocational skill, and playing games from the time period. Round out this fun adventure with lots of fresh air and open spaces to play games, enjoy our playgrounds, and make cool crafts.

Designbyhart Pottery Studio
Campers will get to work with pottery in the morning and art in the afternoon. Mornings will be packed full of clay projects – they even get to work on the wheels! Afternoons will be full of different and fun art projects including color theory, acrylics, watercolor, collage and more! Campers should bring their lunch and a drink, but aprons and lots of fun are provided. Ages 6-11.

Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theatre
In this Halloween theme-based camp, students will work on different elements of theatre including acting, voice, movement, dance, musical theatre and improvisation for a whole week of spooky fun. Ages 5-6 class is themed “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!” while ages 7-9 will have fun with “Magic Tree House: Haunted Castle on Hallows Eve.” Ages 10-15 is “The Addams Family Meets the Munsters”. Friday is Sharing Day, when campers showcase their work to family and friends! $10 early bird discount applies to online registrations received before September 18th.
Huntsville Botanical Garden
Campers will explore the world of George Sherwood’s exhibit Wind, Waves, and Light: Kinetic Sculpture. We will learn about wind, light and waves of all varieties in this camp while getting to know the Garden at the same time! Every camp has exciting hands-on activities including experiments, games, and crafts. Campers explore many different areas of the Garden through nature walks, free time in the Children’s Garden and organized physical education games in the afternoons. One afternoon snack is provided for full day camps, and students will need to provide a morning snack with drink and a lunch. Ages 6-13.

Huntsville STEAM Works
Huntsville STEAM Works (formerly known as MindGear Labs – learn more in our post explaining the change right here!) is offering two fun half-day camp options. “Castle Dracula Minecraft” is a Halloween-inspired Minecraft camp for students in 3rd through 8th grades. Campers will learn about the history and lore of vampires in myth, literature, and film and explore Castle Dracula in Minecraft! Each camper will also fabricate their own Creeper mask or Minecraft torch to take home. For the older kids, students in 7th through 12th grade are invited to the “Cosplay Fabrication” camp, where teen cosplayers (or aspiring teen cosplayers) will spend the week with fellow cosplayers working on key skills that should be in every cosplayer’s toolbox. They’ll make a piece of armor or unique prop for their character with the help of great tools and cosplay counselors. With guided builds, campers will be exploring techniques from fabrication to painting, with a lot of room for creativity and experimentation.

The Little Gym of Huntsville
Wonder and fascination will be brought to life during this week of Legends, Fables and Folklore! Has your child ever pretended to be a Unicorn, Dragon or Mermaid? Do they love the stories of “Robin Hood” or “Cinderella”? The kids will get to bring these and other characters and stories to life this week – and get some great exercise at the same time. Call ahead to reserve your space. Camps are for children ages 3 – 8 years old; must be potty independent.
Games, daily themes, tumbling, arts and crafts, contests, and so much more! A healthy snack will provided by The Matrix every morning and participants must bring their own lunch/drink. All weeklong campers get a t-shirt! Ages 3 (potty trained) through 8th grade.
RCE Skills Academy
Let’s play basketball! The Skills Camp is intended to help players of all abilities develop athletically, refine fundamental basketball skill, an enhance their skill set at the post, wing, or guard positions. Emphasis is placed on fundamental development, shooting, offensive moves, defense, rebounding, footwork and agility. Campers will spend time on skill development, speed & agility, 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games, and receive a camp t-shirt! Ages 8-15.

Rocket City Sewcial
Students will spend the week making their own clothes and accessories. They will learn how to read patterns, take measurements, cut fabric, and sew their own clothes. All supplies and sewing machines will be provided. Classes are for kids 8 and up. Previous sewing experienced is preferred, but not required.
The U.S. Space & Rocket Center
If your child is looking for some out of this world fun then the Rocket Explorer Experience might be the answer! Campers will get to experiment with International Space Station science projects, learn rocketry principles by building and launching rockets, and gain an understanding of a day in the life of an astronaut. They’ll also get to draw and design a mission patch, explore museum activities, including museum exhibits and simulators like the Mars Climbing Wall and Space Shot, and learn how Huntsville took man to the moon! There will also be water activities (weather permitting). Ages 5-10.
Spirited art is the perfect day camp opportunity for your budding artist to release their creative juices over Fall Break! This camp is Halloween-themed, and kids will have the opportunity to paint mini-pumpkins, make spider lollipops, create a button witch hat or pumpkin, craft a burlap scarecrow treat bag and candy corn banner, and decorate Halloween blocks – in addition to a fun Halloween painting each day! Friday’s camp is an Open Studio, where children can select 2 paintings and enjoy a provided snack and drink. Ages 5 and up.
YMCA – Hogan
This full-day camp is on the Hogan YMCA campus and open to both members and non-members. Parents provide lunch & two snacks. There will be games, swimming and a field trip during this week. 3-day campers may pick the 3 days of their choice.
