Weekend Roundup October 18-21

It’s almost that time…do you have your costume yet? If you’re ready to get spooked a little early, there are plenty of events this weekend including the VERY family-friendly Bootanica at Huntsville Botanical Garden (Sat. 10AM-2PM), Family Fright Nights at Lowry House (Fri-Sat) and the Trail of Fears Haunted Hay Ride at Dublin Park (Fri-Sat).

Just looking for fall fun? Check out our Fall Activities Guide for info on local Fall Festivals, Pumpkin Patches and much more. Looking for some great deals? Check out our weekly Yard Sale Map for all the best local sales and don’t forget to check out our Giveaways page where we are currently giving away tickets to next week’s Sci-Quest Halloween event and some Halloween printables from local party planning service Belly Feathers. Every week we agonize (well, that might be a little strong but we think REALLY carefully) about which events to put in our roundup and every week, something awesome doesn’t make the cut so don’t forget to check out ALL the things going on this weekend in our Event Calendar.

The admission is $1.00 over regular price and members of Burritt on the Mountain are FREE.

  4. Parkway Place 10th Birthday Bash

  5. Sing a Song for Tom @ Green Street Market

Thursday from 3PM to 6PM: Farmer’s markets in general are a big hit with parents and kids alike and The Green Street Market (located at 208 Eustis Avenue in downtown Huntsville) goes above and beyond to provide entertainment and fun for the whole family. This week, the music at the Market is The Tom Musgrove Session. Tom Musgrove is a local gentleman who recently passed away after a battle with cancer and tomorrow several local musicians are paying tribute to Tom by playing two sets of sing-a-longs – a set of Hank Williams songs and a set of old church hymns. I only met Tom a few times but many of my dearest friends called him a friend and he was by all accounts a man worth honoring. What better way to do that than by joining in a chorus of voices lifting him up in song.
