If you haven’t had an opportunity to check out the newest toy store in town you’ve got two this weekend… all while having some serious fun with your kids. An all-day Tenzi Tournament will happen at Learning Express on Friday, and it’s an addictive game kids of all ages can play! On Saturday from 11AM-3PM there will be a LEGO Block Party at the store, complete with visits from your favorite LEGO characters.

SoulStock is an annual outdoor Christian music and worship event in Decatur, Alabama. Completely free for the general public to attend, SoulStock is sponsored by churches, businesses, and individuals mostly in the surrounding communities. The ultimate goal of Soulstock is to reach out to all individuals though the ministry of music – get the full performance schedule here.

WERU_#3Frozen In the Park

RESCHEDULED FOR MAY 29-The inescapable siren’s song of Elsa & Anna will help kick off the Movies In the Park series this weekend at the Village of Providence! Our advice: arrive early to grab some delicious dinner from one of the many restaurants lining the park square, then head on over to claim your spot for the movie. Bring lawn chairs & blankets & settle in for some family fun!

WERU_#4Super Saturday & Bike Fest

Saturday from 9AM – 3PM
Cost: FREE
Big Spring Park (map)

“Super Saturday” is a free health and fitness-themed event with outdoor exercise classes, cooking demonstrations, health screenings, the annual Mayor’s Bicycle Ride through downtown, and more. Church Street will be closed in Big Spring Park from 11AM-3PM for BikeFest, a short-course bicycle drag race, slow race, kids, and adult trike obstacle courses.

WERU_#5Family Fun Day

Sunday from 2-6 PM
Cost: FREE
Valley Conservatory (map)

Spend your Sunday afternoon at this community event with tons of live music performances. The kids can try the violin, drums, bells, and other instruments at the various play stations, and even meet Max The MaxNificent Polka Dot Pyrenees Dog. Don’t forget about face painting & the arts & crafts stations!

Arts Alive! in Florence

Saturday & Sunday from 9AM-5PM

If you’re feeling like a little road trip, then point your car to the west and head to Florence, Alabama for the annual Arts Alive festival! Great art, music, kid’s activities, food, and performances will happen at this 29th annual event. We wrote all about it here.
