It’s been a stormy week in North Alabama, but the weekend is looking milder and sunshiny in Huntsville! Why not take advantage of it and plan some fun things to do with your kids that won’t make your wallet cry? We’ve rounded up our favorite free and/or cheap events below, plus a couple more that are worth the splurge.

Guided Walking Tour of Twickenham

Explore Instruments with Opus Tadpole

Children and their families can have fun discovering the answers to these musical questions and more during twenty-minute Opus Tadpole presentations, entertaining and interactive ways for our youngest listeners to learn about the instruments of the orchestra. Superhero 5K/1M & Fun Run and Free Family Block Party

The Superheroes 5K/1M & Fun Run is the National Children’s Advocacy Center’s annual event to raise funds and awareness to fight child abuse. More than 6 million children are affected in the US each year, with a report made every 10 seconds. The Superheroes 5K/ 1M & Fun Run provides funding for local programs and services and advocacy efforts that will improve the lives of children affected by child abuse.

This performance of the timeless classic ballet is something your little ballerina will love! Alabama Youth Ballet presents, “Sleeping Beauty” and it is sure to delight.
* If you are family that encounters obstacles when attending theater events because some members in your family have special needs, Alabama Youth Ballet Theatre will be presenting a special performance on March 30 at 7PM that is free of charge for families with children with disabilities.
