So… it’s HOT in Huntsville. If you think that’s the understatement of the year, you’re not alone.

Bust out the tutus – Alabama Youth Ballet Theatre will be at the library to educate and share the joy of dance. Enjoy small excerpts from classical ballets, marvel at handmade costumes, and talk with experienced dancers!

A carnival just for kids? Yes, you heard us right and it is NOT TO BE MISSED. Seriously, read our review and you’ll be lining up. Tokens to ride are just $.50 each and all monies go to local charities. A North Alabama tradition that needs to become your family’s summer tradition.

WERU_#3MOPS Community Yard Sale

Saturday from 7AM-Noon

First Baptist Huntsville (map)

Help support FBC’s chapter of Mothers of Preschoolers by selling or shopping at the 1st Annual MOPS Community Yard Sale. Its free to shop on June 27th from 7-12 noon, but a $15 advanced registration is required to sell. The concept is simple: You rent a parking space, bring your items to sell, then take any unsold items with you after the sale. This is on one of the busiest streets in town so you know you will be seen by lots of customers. Don’t worry about signs or placing an ad; they’ve taken care of all the publicity for you!  More info here.

Sunday from 3-9 PM

BEEP BEEP! On May 26, Huntsville’s Mayor Tommy Battle, in an Official Proclamation, declared June 28 Microwave Dave Day while announcing the establishment of the Microwave Dave Music Education Foundation. This concert is a full day of musical festivities is being planned at AM Booth’s Lumberyard, with notable local musicians joining Dave on stage throughout the day. The musical extravaganza will culminate in a performance by headliner, Microwave Dave, and his band, The Nukes! The finale may end up with an All-Star cast jamming on stage with the NUKES. Food trucks and beverages will be available all day (personal food and drinks are prohibited).

The event is being held to announce and establish the Microwave Dave Music Education Foundation. A $10.00 donation is being suggested at the door. Donations will be used to cover operating expenses associated with Microwave Dave Day and to help establish a fund for The Microwave Dave Music Education Foundation.
