Summer Show-Offs

Summer Show-Offs uses a child’s love for music to build confidence and character through song and dance performance. Students are divided into age groups, and each group learns 5 songs that are performed at a big show on the last day of camp. Every camper has a solo, and gets to explore their talents in a fun and encouraging environment.

Local camp coordinator Carolyn Bakke has sent her two children to the camp for the last five years. “They both LOVE the camp,” says Bakke. “And I love watching them spend time with their counselors who are such positive role models and love watching them grow in their confidence and communication skills. I am a strong believer that the confidence, stage presence, discipline, and character built through arts programs like Summer Show-Offs are a key part of our children’s educational and character development – whether they use these skills on a stage, a classroom, a board room, or a church!”

The camp meets from 9AM-2PM Monday through Thursday with a dress rehearsal and final performance on Friday. The cost of the camp is $210 per child. www.summershowoffs.com

Country Day Camp

Summers at Country Day School harkens back to the long, lazy days of childhood summers spent hiking, fishing, swimming, and just having fun. Opportunities to learn and grow are organic and children are given the time and space to develop socially, emotionally and physically. For older campers, field trips are frequent and included in tuition costs. Certified teachers will work to encourage summer reading and are available to tutor students individually but the focus is on making everything fun and providing each of the campers with a happy summer experience.
