Why Invest in Your Mompreneur Garden?

Five years ago, my husband and I purchased our first stand-alone home with a yard. My son was 4 weeks old when we moved in and I was recovering from a C-section. With everything going on, yard care was the furthest thing from our minds.

Flash-forward a few years, I decided to see what needed to be done to tackle our front lawn. We kept it cut but the bushes were too large and weeds had taken over our plant beds and Bermuda turf. I called several lawn care companies that gave me a number of quotes for different solutions; one solution included over a $1,000 to re-sod and start over. We just couldn’t afford that and another winter passed.

This Spring, our next door neighbors’ lawn, which was being overrun by weeds as well, began to look better and better. As time progressed, I watched the weeds die, and the grass beginning to grow back lush and green. One day, I asked what their secret was. They had hired a lawn care service to come out every so often and put down fertilizer and weed-eradicator. Seeing those results convinced me to call and order the same service and our lawn has never looked better, no re-sodding required.

No matter where you are in your business, with an idea and a dream, just starting out but feeling stuck, overgrown by all the weeds hampering your growth, just like it wasn’t too late for our little patch of lawn, it is never too late to start tending to the garden of your business.

The MOMpreneur Event 2019: “Dig It, Water It, Grow a Blooming Business”

That’s what the MOMpreneur Event is all about. During this mini one-day conference, you will meet other mompreneurs (gardeners) who want to grow their business just like you do. You’ll hear presentations that will inform you how to tend to those pesky weeds that hamper your progress, how to nip time management issues in the bud, and how to get those flowers and plants to grow, dang it! Grow, Dang It! is actually a title of one of the presentations! You can see the full agenda for the day here.

And here’s something new for this year! At the end of the day, soak your business (garden) thoroughly with Happy Hour.

It’s been my experience that moms have fantastic business ideas, and many are looking for more flexible ways to stay in the workforce, using their hard-earned skills while raising a family. Maybe you’re passionate about an issue or cause. Maybe you are really great at something that meets a need for others. Maybe you need to find a way to keep your skill set sharp while you have a baby. Or maybe you’ve just sent your last baby off to college and are ready to start a new chapter in your professional life.

Huntsville needs more Mompreneurs. Are you the next one?
