Beaks & Barks

Bring your favorite four-legged friend to the Garden each day to stretch your legs and theirs and play some fetch in our “No Leash Zone.” Your dog can play there off-leash with his pals while you make friends with other pet parents. Then you both can enjoy the Garden while strolling, on-leash, on the pet paths.

The Amazing Castle Opens

When: Saturday, February 6
Where: Hardin Center for the Cultural Arts, Gadsden

The newest exhibit opens at the Hardin Center in Gadsden – as visitors explore the eight themed areas, they are introduced to seven storybook characters who are part of the castle community. From the carpenter to the seamstress, each character has a special role. As they move through the castle, village visitors playfully explore the interconnectedness of community members in a setting inspired by fantasy and history. Ages 2-12.

Harry Potter Book Night

Huntsville Mardi Gras Parade

Beads, floats, music – what more could you ask for this time of year? The parade will start and stop on Meridian Street, close to The Furniture Factory and The Lumberyard and parade through the streets of downtown Huntsville.

Daddy Daughter Valentine Tea

Carnegie Carnival’s Children’s Mardi Gras Parade

Decorate a truck or car, ride a bike, pull your kiddos in a wagon or pull your Shoebox Float! The theme is FUN with a Mardi Gras twist! No rules, just register, decorate and join in on the parade fun! Decatur’s city parade begins at 6:00 PM.

Madison County Sheriff’s Lonestar Rodeo

When: February 6-7
Where: VBC Arena

The top cowboys and cowgirls will be at one huge event to compete for the title of National Champion. Ten riders in the Lonestar standings will have a chance to win the Lonestar National Rodeo championship buckle and their share of thousands in prize money throughout the eight competitions.

Snowflake Ball

Open to all high school teens 9th-12th grade, this dance will donate all proceeds to charities the students believe strongly in – the American Cancer Society and Lincoln Academy Library. Teens from across Madison COunty are invited to attend and have a great time!

Concert with Jennifer Daniels

This kid-friendly concert by Jennifer Daniels will help raise money for kids in need to play sports so they can build leadership skills and self confidence. Working closely with Eric Litwin (author of the first four Pete the Cat books), Jennifer writes and performs interactive songs and stories. These lively shows are designed to get children and families excited about reading, the arts, and creative self expression.

Chinese New Year Party

Black History Month Celebration

The Huntsville Madison County Library will conclude Black History Month with a grand finale. From 3-5 p.m., Youth Services will have multiple stations dedicated to the inventions of African-American inventors. Children will have the opportunity to learn about the inventors while participating in activities related to the inventions. Then, from 5-8:30 p.m., be entertained by the talents of praise dancers, choirs, and a recitation of the “I Have a Dream” speech and see a fashion show of African apparels.

Comic Science Improv

Comic Science Improv is a north-Alabama-based troupe of actors who perform hilarious sketches based on suggestions given by the audience. Clean & Learn – Wildlife identification

Alabama Youth Ballet Celebrates 10 Years
