Sand Mountain Corn Maze (Sardis City)

Corn Blasters, Duck Races and Cow Train rides are just some of the family fun to be had at this giant corn maze. There is also a pumpkin patch, hay rides, play barn and pumpkin store. Opens Sept. 22 at 1:00PM.

McGee Farm (Florence)

Open September 14-October 31, this family farm advertises itself as “Country Atmosphere” and the owners encourage you to “sit under our big oak and listen to the country sounds.” Take a 20-30 minute trip to the real pumpkin patch where you can see and pick small and large pumpkins right off the vine. Children an also feed the chickens, see baby goats, and pick cotton. They also have thousands of Mums to select from. Pumpkin prices start at 3/$1.00, large pumpkins $.30/pound.

Scarecrow Trail (Huntsville Botanical Gardens)

Over 50 Scarecrows are placed throughout the Garden along with awesome hay bale art. Walk through the Garden and see all the great creations, now through October 31st. Weekend hay rides add to the fun and this year there is also a sorghum maze for kids of all ages to explore.

Punkin’ Pickin’ Run

North Alabama Railroad Museum has added a new train this year just in time for Halloween season! With this train, the riders will be allowed to disembark from the train at Normal and enter our punkin’ patch. The children will be allowed to select a pumpkin (included in the price of their ticket) and take it back to Chase on the train and then home.

Madison Street Festival

The day kicks off with a parade at 9:00 AM. This festival has grown into one of the largest in North Alabama and if last year is any indication, you can expect a pretty large crowd. But there is more than enough to do and thanks to generous support from the local community, almost all of it is entirely FREE including everything at the children’s section (pony rides, games, crafts and more). Live music, arts & crafts, performances, and food!

James Clemens Fall Festival

Trick or Treat & Spooky Puppets

The engineers over at Mind Gear Labs are getting in the seasonal “spirit” with spooky projects for kids young and old all October. Pumpkin Blast

Holy Family Regional School and Tate Farms present the first ever Pumpkin Blast! Teams will compete by bringing their homemade air cannon or trebuchet to blast a pumpkin as far as it can go. Divisions are open for adults, college students and youths age 14-18 to compete. Tate Farms will be open that day for the general public to watch the event and enjoy the usual fall activities on the farm. Proceeds support Holy Family Regional School’s Restore the Mission Campaign.
