The Science of Archimedes

This exhibit showcases inventions and scientific discoveries of Archimedes, the “Father of Modern Science” and takes guests on a journey through history and science with a look at the machines of the ancient world. While the concepts are centuries old, many of these ancient technologies have been adapted for use today. With computer-modeled animations, interactive machines and an activity station for ages 3 to 14, this exhibit is designed for all ages.

Open House Party at Lowe Mill A&E

Lowe Mill A&E invites patrons and art lovers to join us for an Open House Party. Our Open House Parties give guests the opportunity to meet and interact with exhibiting artists and their work all while purchasing work from our six public galleries. Among the art featured are drawings by Birmingham artist Christina Daniel, mixed media by Chattanooga's Hollie Chastain, oil paintings by Katelyn Ledford, and prints by Sarah Marshall, that range from diagrammatic line drawings to elaborately decorative pieces. This exhibit showcases inventions and scientific discoveries of Archimedes, the “Father of Modern Science” and takes guests on a journey through history and science with a look at the machines of the ancient world. While the concepts are centuries old, many of these ancient technologies have been adapted for use today. With computer-modeled animations, interactive machines and an activity station for ages 3 to 14, this exhibit is designed for all ages.
