Discover the Huntsville Visitor Center

Huntsville CVB thumbI’ve called Huntsville home my whole life, and only just discovered this hidden gem the past few years. Of course, I can’t keep good things all to myself – especially when it comes to savings & doing fun things around town!

The Huntsville Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau stayed a secret for me primarily because of the “V” in its name. I wasn’t a visitor. I knew all there was to know about the Rocket City… right? Why should I, a Huntsville native, go to the Visitor Center?

3 Reasons To Check Out the Visitor Center

1. THE COUPONS

There is no better way to experience Huntsville than by using the Huntsville CVB’s Passport Coupons. The Passport program provides visitors & residents an opportunity to visit the area’s many attractions while saving on admission prices. I can’t tell you how many people I know that haven’t been to the Space & Rocket Center in YEARS. This always surprises me because they constantly have new exhibits, movies, and programs to experience, but now reluctant natives can find out for themselves by using a coupon from the CVB.

You can only get these coupons by picking them up from the Huntsville Visitor Center on Church Street – attractions include: Alabama Constitution Village, EarlyWorks Museum, Huntsville Museum of Art, Huntsville Botanical Garden, Sci-Quest Museum, U.S.Space & Rocket Center, Weeden House, Burritt on-the Mountain, Historic Depot, and the Veterans Museum.

The other coupons you can find on the Visitor Center website are part of the All Star Sports Pass. These are all Buy-One, Get One ticket deals for all the major Huntsville sports teams. You can print them from the comfort of your own home! Teams include: Alabama Hammers arena football, Huntsville Havoc hockey, Huntsville Tigers women’s football, Dixie Derby Girls Roller Derby League, the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, and all teams in the UAH Chargers Athletic Department.

2. THE LUCKY DUCK SCAVENGER HUNT

Did you know you can go duck hunting in downtown Huntsville? Yep.

One dozen bronze ducks have been securely placed within a 2-mile radius, all waiting to be discovered by your family. A Lucky Duck Clue card helps you along the way, and leads you to each secret location of the little duckies. You can pick up some clue cards at the Visitor Center or just download it from home. While you’re there picking up your attraction coupons and Lucky Duck Clue Cards, be sure to take a Rocket City Selfie with you & the kiddos. They’re tons of fun!

3. BECOME A LOCAL EXPERT

Huntsville History TourAnother great thing I love about the Visitor Center is they always know about the next exhibit, play, or tour happening in Huntsville, and there are A LOT throughout the year. If you entertain friends or family from out of town they will think you’re pretty smart for being “in the know” about all the latest fun stuff! From digital Huntsville History Tours, to the next exhibit happening at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens, signing up for the Huntsville E-Blast or reading the iHeartHsv blog can be great ways to lure Grandma here for a visit.
