Miss Nelson can’t control her crazy classroom because she’s too nice. But when she disappears, her replacement is the hard-as-nails, detention-loving, recess-cancelling, homework-overloading substitute teacher Viola Swamp! With the Big Test approaching, the kids suddenly realize how much they miss Miss Nelson and they’ll do anything — including hiring a private eye — to solve the mystery of her disappearance and bring her back.

Children throughout Madison County delight in the HMCPL Puppet Troupe’s productions of popular stories, songs, and tall tales. These shows bring stories to life to promote literacy in a fun, accessible, and entertaining way. During spring break week the troupe will travel to Huntsville Botanical Garden to put on a show certain to entertain everyone!

The Rocket City Sweethearts are Huntsville’s premiere 1950’s and 1960’s ladies singing group. Featuring Jacinda Rose Swinehart, Sonja Eames, Heidi Crane, and Caroline Taylor, these ladies will make your evening nifty with their 1950’s dresses, hairstyles, and golden voices. Come enjoy all your favorite tunes from the flirty fifties and swingin’ sixties in this two hour flash to the past.

Madison Community Band Spring Concert

The Madison Community Band, a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Public Charity, based in North Alabama, follows a long tradition of community bands. An all-volunteer organization, the band is comprised of musicians of all ages and backgrounds.

Alabama Youth Ballet presents Sleeping Beauty

Alabama Youth Ballet Theatre is the non-profit performing company of Alabama Youth Ballet. Come see their performance of the timeless classic, Sleeping Beauty. If you are family that encounters obstacles when attending theater events because some members in your family have special needs, Alabama Youth Ballet Theatre will be presenting a special performance on March 30 at 7PM that is free of charge for families with children with disabilities.

Kick off your Sunday shoes and cut loose as the rock ‘n’ roll musical sensation Footloose bursts on to the stage in a show sure to get your toes tapping. Based on the 1980s hit film that took the world by storm, Footloose the musical sizzles with the same spirit of youth, rebellion and romance. City boy Ren thinks his life is over when he is forced to move to Bomont, an American rural backwater. But things are far worse than he could have ever imagined, as the town bans dancing. It isn’t long before Ren can’t resist breaking the rules, and he’s not alone.

This beautiful love story for the ages is based on the classic Hans Christian Andersen story and animated film, Disney’s The Little Mermaid. With music by eight-time Academy Award winner, Alan Menken, this fishy fable with capture your heart with its irresistible songs, including “Under the Sea”, “Kiss the Girl”, “and “Part of Your World”. Watoto Children’s Choir in Concert

The Watoto’s Children’s Choir, whose members are orphans and vulnerable children, will present their new worship program Signs and Wonders on Saturday, April 8, 2017. Signs and Wonders features original music from Watoto Church in Uganda, Africa as the children celebrate the joy of salvation through worship and dance, and share personal stories that are filled with hope and the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. Although admission is free, Signs and Wonders is a benefit program. All proceeds go to Watoto Child Care Ministries as they continue to rescue vulnerable women and children in Africa, and prepare Uganda’s next generation of leaders.

Concerts on the Dock has grown from a small gathering of music lovers to an institution in the Huntsville music scene since the first note was struck in 2008. This free, family friendly series is all about creating a laid back atmosphere for friends of Lowe Mill to enjoy original content and interesting new acts, Friday nights during the Spring and Fall. Bring chairs, picnics, friends and pets on a leash and join us under the water tower!
